| Test your risk for osteoporosis
- Are you above 50 years of age?
- Have your parents suffered from osteoporosis?
- Are you very slim?
- Do you pursue very little sports? Or no sports at all?
- Do you spend less than one hour a day outdoors?
- Do you smoke and/or take alcohol regularly?
- Do you mainly eat food with a low calcium content and do you take
very little milk or milk products such as yoghurt, cottage cheese,
cheese, etc.?
- Has your height reduced or have you noticed an increasingly round
back?
- Do you take thyroid medication regularly?
- Do you take cortisone regularly?
- Have you ever had a fracture that was not preceded by a serious
fall or an accident?
If two or three of the above questions have been answered with a YES,
there may be an increased risk of osteoporosis. Please discuss this
subject in a personal conversation with your doctor.
